Working principle
A colloid mill is a wet-processing machine used for the fine grinding of materials. In a colloid mill, the interlocking teeth on the rotating and stationary grinding discs—each shaped like a multi-row cone—cause the fluid within the grinding chamber to instantly change direction. As a result, the material undergoes repeated shearing and grinding actions, during which intense friction, compression, kneading, and tearing occur between molecules, leading to the breaking of molecular chains. Under the combined effects of gravity, liquid pressure, centrifugal force, powerful shear forces, friction, impact, high-frequency vibrations, and vortex formation, the processed material is effectively dispersed, broken down, emulsified, homogenized, and uniformly mixed, yielding an ideally refined product.
Structural features
Colloid mills feature a reasonable structure, simple operation, low noise, convenient maintenance, small footprint, excellent corrosion resistance, wide range of applications, and adjustable grinding disc gaps.
The materials used for the main components are made of stainless steel, which is corrosion-resistant and non-toxic.
The colloid mill’s main components are meticulously machined and feature advanced manufacturing processes. Its fine-adjustment mechanism is sophisticated and reliable, making it easy to control the fineness of the processed material and ensuring high processing quality.
Depending on the intended use, grinding discs made of different materials and with varying hardness levels can be selected. They are easy to install and remove and simple to clean.
The colloid mill uses molded packing seals, which feature leak-proof performance and minimal maintenance requirements.
